Founded by Charles W. Independent Marketing Consultation & Research at NewsRX

I began working with NewsRX Publisher Susan Hasty and Founder Charles W. Henderson after beginning an internship with The Storyline Group, located in Atlanta, owned by Phillip Bellury. After initial introductions and negotiations in early 2010, I started my contract as a Marketing Consultant, Writer and Researcher, but learned so much more during her time with NewsRX.

I first worked with the Junior Web Developer to improve the appearance and content on the encyK website, which was a natural expansion for NewsRX, dedicated to creating encyclopedias by organizing all research articles by year and by disease. The original website was difficult to view and lacking content, so, working with NewsRX Publisher Susan Hasty, I created new website content that more accurately described each product. The partnership between myself and the Junior Web Developer lead to the creation of a beautiful website which was easy to navigate and pleasing in appearance.

After spending some time researching the best ways to reach new audiences, Susan Hasty and I created press releases that would not only be distributed by popular online newswires but also via social media. Several of those social media platforms had just recently been introduced, including Digg, Delicious and Reddit. Those press releases reached more than 10000 people, and led many new customers back to the website and then to the Amazon shop to purchase the encyclopedias.

I also worked with the Junior Web Developer on several separate businesses, including:

  • One project dedicated to assisting students with attendance at one of the Ivy League schools, guaranteeing admission through a variety of “back door” lesser-known avenues. I aided in the creation of the website, company logo, content creation and video filming and editing for the product, which were eventually uploaded to the website.
  • A separate business designed to help new authors with self-publishing, as this was where the publishing industry began moving to in early 2011. This business would not only include a brand new website, which would need content, SEO integration, design, development, marketing and PR, it would become a brand, complete with a game that would allow users to learn more about the self-publishing industry while continually earning credits to aid the publishing and distribution of their own works. For this project, the Junior Web Developer and I worked together to develop the mechanics of the games and work the numbers to where it would be a game that would consistently bring repeat players, similar to the workings of popular Facebook games like Farmville.
