Meredith G. Loos’ Work at Belnick, Incorporated

While I began my tenure as a Copywriter, my position quickly changed to one where I managed the regular update and upload of several online furniture retailers partnered with Belnick, Inc. I learned how to use Access as a database management system for the products offered on the website.

Several months later, the Web Services Department Lead introduced Search Engine Optimization as a viable way to increase traffic to the website. I attended several training meetings to learn how SEO works to drive organic traffic to websites and the basics of Google’s Keyword Tool. Using this knowledge, I applied that knowledge of searching for relevant keywords for individual products and retailers, and generated personalized SEO content for each including lower tier landing pages for high-end manufacturers. My efforts, as well as those of the select SEO copywriting team, increased organic traffic by 11% from 10/11/08 to 11/11/08, and numbers continued to rise in the months to follow.

Following the success of our initial efforts, the SEO team was increased to include the entire Web Services Department. Due to the influx of new content, I offered her expert proofreading skills to review her co-workers submissions before they appeared on the live websites. My expertise in SEO copywriting was then lent to several newly-launched websites, where I created content on all tiered landing pages and individual product pages.
